Critters Found In Acker Park
Friends of Acker Park are very interested in maintaining a wildlife component to the park. Hikers have seen, deer, javalina, coyotes, harmless lizards, lots of various local birds and even a coatimundi! If you are really lucky you might find a hornytoad! We need to know where they live, how far they range, what their habits are and how we can least impact their lives:
1. Where do the fauna/critters in the park "hang out/live"?
2. What are their behaviors?
3. What is the best way to minimize our human impact on these animal's habitat.
To do this members have been installing trail cameras on animal pathways that are common in the thick brush of the park.
We will continue to plant the cameras in secluded areas, maintain the batterys.
